Namibia’s top female Olympic Trap shottist Gaby Ahrens is targeting to get a good result at the 3rd National Trail this Sunday at the Luiperdsvalley Military Base Shooting Range south of Windhoek.

It will be her last competitive preparation shoot before the 34-year-old leaves for Azerbaijan in August to compete at the last World Cup of the season.

Ahrens finished in second and third places at the first two trails, respectively, being the only women to compete. Gielie van Wyk won both events in dominating fashion.

The two-time Olympic athlete continued her good run of form in May, shattering her personal best score at a World Cup when she hit 22, 21 and 23 clay pigeons over the three qualification rounds in Cyprus, bringing her PB up to 66. A score she aims to equal in August.

The Hyundai brand-ambassador’s PB stood at 64 before, achieved at the World Cup in Tucson, USA, last year.
