The mentor of MTC Premiership League early pacesetters Tigers Football Club, Brian Isaacs, is not taking any chances and has promised to treat this weekend’s fixtures with the awareness and respect they deserve.
Currently the only unbeaten side in the league after 13 rounds of matches, Tigers’ impressive winning streak since the beginning of this season has seen them take charge of proceedings at the helm of the log.
Having won ten matches, drawn three and lost none, Tigers sit at the top with 33 points from 13 matches played so far – leaving a gap of six points between them and closest rivals, Black Africa, who are second on 27 points, while Orlando Pirates are fourth on 22 points.
As for this weekend’s matches, coach Isaacs has, despite their decent good run, promised to stick to the same menu to ensure consistency is maintained, while also striving to collect maximum points when they face coastal outfits Blue Waters on Saturday and Eleven Arrows on Sunday.
Despite the high confidence, the veteran gaffer is very much aware that a defeat against either side could all but defuse their title aspirations and thus have a plan for that eventuality.
“We’re not taking any chances. That’s why I ‘ve been emphasising that our striking force must double up their efforts, produce more goals and take our chances in front of goal in order to ensure that our smooth passage continues unhindered,” Isaacs said.
