WINDHOEK – German Serbian-born boxer Geard ‘The Warrior’ Ajetovic yesterday promised to make sure that this coming Saturday marks the end of Harry Simon’s career and insisted that Harry is too old to handle his speed and power.

Namibia’s former two-time world champion Harry ‘The Terminator’ Simon is scheduled to challenge Ajetovic for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Light Heavyweight title, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Katutura this coming Saturday. Speaking at a short press briefing in the capital yesterday, a highly motivated Ajetovic made it crystal clear that he is not here for the money, but to teach Harry a boxing lesson and take the title home. “I know Harry very well, he’s a good boxer but they (Harry’s camp) made a huge mistake of choosing me as an opponent, because there is no way Harry can pass through me. I accepted the fight because I know I will beat Harry and take the title,” warned Ajetovic.

Ajetovic, who won his last two title bouts when he defeated Polish boxer Przemyslaw Opalach on points to clinch the vacant IBF International Super Middleweight title and also went on to scoop the World Boxing Organization (WBO) European Super Middleweight title when he trounced Abdelkahim Derghal of France, boasts 23 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw from a record 32 fights. Meanwhile, Namibia’s own knockout specialist Harry holds an impressive CV of 28 victories from the same number of bouts and is determined to extend his winning streak. Harry is expected to arrive tomorrow morning from South Africa where he has been training to come and face his opponent at a press conference slated for Wernhil Park later tomorrow.
