WINDHOEK – Namibia’s most decorated football coach, Alibaker ‘Mr Fix It’ Akan is well known for his tough verbal tackles off the pitch and is always prepared to roll with the punches at the slightest provocation – the brother is at it again.

The often-controversial Akan, nowadays sporting a hippy-look-alike new hairstyle, has climbed bare knuckles into self-styled football administrators whom he accuses of putting personal interest ahead of poor footballers.

“People are still wondering as to why both Black Africa and African Stars are dominating proceedings in the country’s flagship league.

“These blokes must wake up and smell the coffee because these two football giants are being administered in a professional fashion outpacing their competitors in that regard, unless this trend is arrested, the status quo will remain intact,” charges an irate Akan.

He adds that some football administrators are making a mockery of the game and need to drastically change their mindset. “In this time and era, some teams campaigning in the Premier League are still putting their players in school hostels for lodging with sub-standard nutrition during away trips, notwithstanding constant late payment (salaries)”

Akan notes that BA and Stars will always be miles ahead of the chasing pack because their playing personnel is not subjected to shoddy environment such as inadequate training facilities and outdated travel arrangements that sees players crammed into small busses like tins of fish.
