The police are hot on the trail of an Okahandja Park man who fled the house immediately after allegedly murdering his wife on Saturday evening. The man allegedly attacked the wife with a hammer on the head, resulting in her death. 

The incident occurred at their residence in Okahandja Park. The police yesterday assured they are hard at work to ensure the accused is apprehended. In another murder incident, a 28-year-old woman died after he was allegedly hacked with a panga by her boyfriend. The incident happened on Saturday at Oohambo Dha Nehale informal settlement, adding that the motive of the incident is unknown. 

The suspect was arrested and was due to appear in court yesterday. Meanwhile, at Otjomuise a case of murder was registered after a 34-year-old died after a knife attack. The victim was stabbed several times with a knife on his upper body, resulting in his death. The suspect was also arrested and was due to appear in court. In the Omaheke region, a 24-year-old man died instantly after he was stabbed with an unknown object while attending a wedding at Kanaan C in Epako. 

“Whilst the wedding was on, the deceased was seen entering the yard, he staggered and fell to the ground. Upon closer inspection, the people realised that the victim was stabbed on the left side of the chest as he was bleeding and as a result, the deceased died where he fell. There are no eyewitnesses who saw what led to the stabbing,” the police said.
