ALV Engineers score big beyond the pitch

While many corporate brands limit their role in sport to sponsorship, ALV Consulting Engineers is taking a more hands-on approach, building teams, backing tournaments, and investing in the future of Namibian football.

A subsidiary of the ALV Africa Group, ALV Engineers forms part of a broader continental network focused on infrastructure development, property investment, and community upliftment. But on the local front, their footprint is increasingly visible in sport, particularly football.

Through its corporate social responsibility programme, the company owns and runs ALV Consulting Engineers FC (men) and ALV Consulting Engineers Women FC.

Both sides are steadily finding their footing in the domestic game, with the men’s team competing in the Oshana 3rd Division and the women’s side playing in the Oshana Women’s Regional League, all under the Namibia Football Association (NFA).

Their involvement, however, stretches far beyond club ownership. ALV has thrown its weight behind grassroots and community competitions, including the Ondangwa Masters Tournament, Okapaya Tournament, and the Oshakati Mayorals Cup. More recently, the company joined other stakeholders in supporting the Namibia Premier Football League, where they sponsor the Man of the Match awards for KK Palace FC and Eeshoke Chula Chula FC, with a minimum of N$2 000 per week.

“We believe sport is fundamental to youth integration and community development,” said Cletus Nyongesa, Managing Member of ALV Consulting Engineers, adding that a significant portion of its budget is channelled into sporting initiatives, with no fixed spending ceiling.

Driven by a vision that blends engineering excellence with social impact, ALV aims to continue empowering communities through sport while aligning its efforts with national development goals.

As Namibia’s football landscape continues to grow, ALV Engineers is proving that its impact may extend not only to infrastructure, but also to build the game from the ground up.
