WINDHOEK-Namibian Kwaito and Afro Pop singer, Joel Namulo, aka Ama Tokolos, is back with a new album
Not only just this with the songwriter, composer but also with a brand new and fresh image and a new genre he calls ‘Cks Music’. Ama Tokolos says Cks music is a Kwaito genre mixed with Afro Pop. “I introduced this genre to the upcoming artists to follow in my footprint because this is a type of music that comes with meaning and a message. We can build the nation rather than beefing around with other artists through our music,” says Ama Tokolos.
The young, promising and talented artist recently released his new 17-track album titled Paradise. He worked on this new album with producers such as Jowdy, M-Jay, Maj Beatz, Dj Mkeleleni, Elvo, Billo, Nasho and Kalimba. With track 7 titled Passion Killing, Ama Tokolos sings more about men who have been killing their partners. He features Angolan artist, M-Kay. Track 9, 26 August talks more about this very same day in 1966, when People Liberartion Army of Namibia, PLAN, launched the armed struggle. “August 26 is a big day when it comes to Namibian history. We will never forget it until the end of the world,” says Ama Tokolos.
Ama Tokolos was born on September 1987 in Ombandaula, Uukwaluudhi in the Omusati region. He started his music journey in 2011 in Swakopmund. In 2012 he started recording his music in Windhoek at Elvo Studio until he released his first hit song, Ekwafo, meaning help.
