The 21st edition of the annual Aminuis Agricultural and Industrial Show will kick off tomorrow at the settlement’s agricultural showgrounds.

There, top communal and commercial farmers from the constituency and surrounding areas will be showcasing their breeds.

The show serves as a platform for farmers to showcase and market their animals and various products.

Small and medium enterprises, government and other institutions use the event to display their various offerings and services.

Metarere Ngeenguno, one of the organisers, shared with AgriToday that animal and industrial participation has increased.

This is an indication of how the show is appreciated by local farmers and the business community.

“We are proud to report that the number of animals registered remains consistent with last year, standing at around 250. The industrial participation has increased, showing growing interest in innovation and regional trade,” said Ngeenguno.

He added that farmers from various parts of the country will partake in the Aminuis show, which is regarded as one of Omaheke’s most prestigious events.

“These include veterans, youth and emerging farmers, who will bring their different breeds of cattle, goats and sheep to the show. Kuazikua Ndjavera, Canu Korupanda, Tjipee Hiangoro and Pellee Hoveka are among the regular farmers from outside Aminuis who will participate in the livestock exhibitions,” he said.

The Aminuis breeders have promised to bring strong competition.

Seasoned farmers like Undjakuje Tjimbundu, Brian Uandara and Isando Kavari are expected to bring well-prepared animals.

Ngeenguno informed AgriToday that the Katjiuanjo brothers, Mutu and Tieti, are amongst the notable returnees after a brief break from the show scene.

He added that the event will witness the debut of Kauzera Boergoat Genetics, who are equally expected to bring tight competition to other Boer goat farmers.

Beyond farming, various major organisations will be in attendance to promote and provide outreach activities, adding value beyond livestock.

“This event will also feature traditional food, music and cultural exhibitions, making it a full community celebration,” he said.

Agriculture minister Inge Zaamwani will be the keynote speaker, while chief regional officer of the Omaheke region Pecka Semba will open the proceedings.

The organiser said Aminuis is ready to welcome all visitors, exhibitors and supporters to what promises to be another unforgettable Aminuis Agricultural and Industrial Show.

The event will end on Sunday.
