Amos Meerkat project gets financial boost

The Hollard Namibia Group has recently declared a renewed sponsorship of N$750 000 for three years to the Amos Meerkat School Project, underscoring its commitment to equipping children from farms and informal settlements with a specialised curriculum for primary education.

The investment represents more than 10 years of unwavering support from the insurance company for this crucial educational initiative, amounting to over N$3 million.

The Amos Meerkat School Project has played a vital role in closing the educational divide for children in rural farming areas and informal settlements, offering them the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in primary school and beyond.

“Our longstanding partnership with the Amos Meerkat School Project reflects Hollard’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the potential of every Namibian child, regardless of their circumstances,” said Sam Kauapirura, head of Compliance and Public Relations at Hollard.

He stated that the renewed financial support is a testament to the project’s remarkable achievements, and its crucial role in shaping the future of their nation’s youth.

“Early Childhood Development (ECD) plays a pivotal role in preparing children for a successful school career and life beyond. In the African context, quality ECD is particularly crucial as it helps break the cycle of poverty, addresses developmental delays and reduces inequality. The Amos Meerkat School Project is especially valuable for children who would otherwise have no access to ECD due to their remote locations on farms or in informal settlements across Namibia. Hollard Namibia’s involvement in this project aligns with our business philosophy of securing better futures for all Namibians,” Kauapirura added.

Investing in early childhood education serves not only to prepare children for their academic journey, but also to establish a solid groundwork for their future success, and to foster the comprehensive development of our nation.

“We are immensely proud of the impact the Amos Meerkat School Project has had on countless young lives over the past decade.  Our commitment to the Namibian child underscores Hollard Namibia’s belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities,” he said.
