ONGWEDIVA – An Angolan man was arrested yesterday on murder charges, following the death of his fellow cattle header, who is also an Angolan national.

The suspect is being detained at Oshakati holding cells.

It alleged that the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife after a fight that took place at cuca shops in Iilunga Yeepa village. The two men allegedly got into an altercation at around 20h00 the previous day.

The next day, the victim’s body was discovered at a cattle post, where he (the victim) was employed.

The victim sustained stab wounds on the left buttock, as well as on his left thigh. The suspect did not sustain injuries.

According to Oshana police spokesperson Thomas Aiyambo, the victim was found lying in a pool of his blood in an open area by one of his neighbours.

“He was then taken to Okau clinic, where he was declared dead by nurses upon arrival,” said Aiyambo.

The victim failed to get medical attention on time – and as a result of his wounds, he lost a lot of blood, which eventually resulted in his death.
