By Emma Kakololo WINDHOEK Human body parts consisting of lower legs, a head and feet were discovered at noon yesterday by farm workers on the farm Voigtland in the hinterland of Hosea Kutako Airport, about 35 km from Windhoek. According to a press statement from the Namibian Police yesterday, the employees were working on a fence when one worker, who was a distance from the others, stumbled upon the head and alerted others to come and see his findings. They discovered a lower leg as they scouted around. Meanwhile, they notified the farm owner of their discovery, who in turn informed the Namibian Police at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Then a further search in a radius of 500 m led to another lower leg and feet. Police could yesterday also not confirm whether or not there was a link between the current discovery and that of a torso and two thighs found several weeks ago, stating that scientific proof needed to be obtained. The murder victim’s torso was discovered on May 17 along the Windhoek/Okahandja main road, and three days thereafter two thighs were found dumped in a rubbish bin next to the B1 road between Windhoek and Rehoboth. In this instance police were however certain that both the thighs and torso belonged to the same person. Police are now calling on the public to come forward and identify the murder victim of yesterday’s discovery, as the head was still identifiable. “Though it cannot be determined how long these parts have been on the scene, they appear not to have reached a decomposing stage because the face is still recognizable.” “However, one disturbing factor is that both feet’s three middle toes are cut off,” said police spokesperson Chief Inspector Angula Amulungu.
