Windhoek – Two separate incidents of rape were reported last Saturday, one of the victims being a minor.
A certain man, whose age is unknown, was arrested for allegedly raping the 14-year-old girl at Lapaloma Flats in Swakopmund.
The other rape incident involved a young adult woman (age not given) at Kasota village in the Kavango Region. The suspect, a 26-year-old man, was arrested and will appear in court today, June 12.
Also on Saturday, at Ehungaela village in Ombalantu, 31-year-old Martinus Amunyela died after allegedly hanging himself with a rope in his sleeping room. No suicide note was found, and the next of kin have been informed.
Yesterday, June 11, at about 07h10 on the Outjo/Otjiwarongo main road, the driver lost control of a red Isuzu 2×4 vehicle and overturned. According to a police report, the rear left tyre of the vehicle burst. No one was killed in the accident and the injured passengers, who were taken from the wreck and transported to Otjiwarongo State Hospital, and are believed to be in stable condition.
Police are also investigating a case of stock theft involving nine head of cattle to the value of N$15??????’??
