The Archery Association of Namibia (AAN)’s event this past weekend was hailed as a resounding success by the organisers.
Over 30 participants competed in the exciting competition, which served as crucial preparation for the upcoming African Regional Field Archery Championships, scheduled to take place in Lusaka, Zambia from 3 to July.
Jannie Meuwesen, Stephan Meyer, Evan Meyer, Eden Keyser and Bea Viviers are the selected archers who will represent Namibia at the prestigious continental tournament. Their outstanding performances this past weekend earned them enough points to secure their spots.
Speaking to this publication, AAN representative Jacquiline Coetzee said the event drew archers from all corners of the country. She believes that after two demanding days of shooting, they successfully selected a formidable team to represent Namibia at the upcoming event.
“I am happy with the results. It wasn’t easy, but we managed to get the top archers to represent the country at this major event. I want to thank everyone who took part, and everyone who made the event possible. We are hoping that they will make us proud in Zambia,” she beamed.
