An initiative to help primary school learners with numeracy and literacy skills conducted a successful training programme for youth volunteers in Keetmanshoop recently. 

Creating 18 000 direct employment opportunities, pumping N$60 billion into local procurement over a four-year construction period and paying annual land rental fees up to a maximum of N$330 million, the Hyphen Green Hydrogen Project in the //Kharas region holds significant potential as a catalyst for economic recovery. 

McDonald Hanse, mayor of Keetmanshoop said the inclusivity of //Kharas and Hardap residents to benefit from opportunities presented by the envisaged green hydrogen project in the southern part of the country will ensure that the voices of the people are heard, their perspectives are considered and contributions acknowledged accordingly. 

Despite receiving insufficient funding since the 2020/2021 financial year, the management of //Kharas Regional Council managed to ensure a 97% completion rate of the regional office park.
