WINDHOEK – Dethroned Namibian champions Tigers Sport Club has announced the appointment of Dino Ballotti, as the club’s chairman after the Executive Management Committee meeting held on the 10th of this month.
The youthful football coach-cum-administrator has been a part of the Tigers family since he joined the club as an assistant coach in July 2012 before going onto serve on the Executive Management Committee for the past four years.
As part of the wider process of strengthening Tigers’ leadership team, Ingwe also roped in the pair of former club executive member Kelly Asser and Malan Frey-Elago to the Executive Management Committee.
Ballotti succeeds Turkey Ndashiiva, Tigers first female chairperson who led the club successfully during the MTC Premier League title winning campaign in the 2015/16 term – ending a thirty-year draught for silverware. However, Ndashiiva will continue to serve on the Executive Management Committee. The outgoing Ndashiiva congratulated her successor (Ballotti) on his appointment and promised to give the new man, in the hot seat her full support.
Ballotti, son of former Ramblers FC midfielder Luigi, expressed his gratitude to the faith bestowed upon him to lead this great sporting institution and committed to ensuring a well-documented and professionally run club during his tenure.
“We shall ensure that we relentlessly continue improving the club in our tunnel vision pursuit to fully professionalise and make the great “Ingweinyama’ self-sufficient.’
Club stalwart Asser was formally brought back into the Tigers Sports Club Executive Management Committee, and has been tasked to spearhead the role of Head of the Football Code.
Asser has shown great devotion to Tigers and his knowledge, football expertise and passion for the beautiful game and his long overdue homecoming could be beneficial to the overall growth of the team.
