Bank Windhoek hands over N$450 000 hybrid car

A Bank Windhoek customer, Stefan Mans, last week drove away as the winner of the bank’s second annual Swipe and Save Visa Competition, in which he won a brand-new Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid valued at N$450 000.

In his excitement, Stephan extended a kind gesture to his fellow finalists, Asteria Josef and Robert Sparg, by doubling the N$10 000 received from Bank Windhoek for reaching the finals of the competition. As a result, Josef and Sparg each walked away with N$20 000.

Mans expressed heartfelt gratitude upon receiving the keys to his new car. He said that as a Bank Windhoek customer, this prize is a testament to the fact that the bank appreciates its customers, and that he does not just feel like a number, but part of the Bank Windhoek family.

Mans added that he never imagined that simply banking with Bank Windhoek could lead to such a reward, noting that the car would be handed over to his mother, who had recently needed a brand-new vehicle.

Bank Windhoek’s executive officer of marketing and corporate communication services, Jacqueline Pack, congratulated Mans and thanked all participants for their continued support.

“At Bank Windhoek, we are more than a bank. We are a homegrown brand with deep Namibian roots,” said Pack. “Our commitment to our people and communities inspires every initiative we undertake.

For instance, this competition is one of the many ways we celebrate our customers who continue to trust a bank built right here in Namibia, for Namibia,” he added.

The Bank’s Swipe and Save Visa Competition, which ran from November 2024 to October 2025, saw an enthusiastic response from customers across Namibia.

More than 46 600 accounts automatically qualified for a single entry. Three finalists were selected through a random draw on 7 November 2025, a process verified by the bank’s auditors and legal team.

Bank Windhoek’s commitment to environmental stewardship was highlighted by the choice of the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid as the grand prize. As the first financial institution in Southern Africa to issue a Green Bond and the region’s first Sustainability Bond, Bank Windhoek continues to lead in sustainable finance.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid, with its innovative petrol and electric powertrain and average fuel consumption of just 4.3 litres per 100 kilometres, reflects the bank’s dedication to a greener future.

Pack concluded that the bank’s participation rate in the Swipe and Save Visa Competition across Namibia has been incredible, and the excitement witnessed shows the strength of the relationship between Bank Windhoek and the people it serves.
