WINDHOEK – Bank Windhoek and the Ministry of Finance have entered into an agreement in which Bank Windhoek will provide Point of Sale (POS) devices to the ministry to be used at all Namibian Borders Posts, Inland Revenue cash offices, Magistrate offices and Post offices appointed as collection agents for the ministry. The agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Bank Windhoek was signed yesterday (Wednesday) in Windhoek.

The Bank Windhoek POS devices will make payment easier and convenient for the Ministry’s clients to pay for duty and tax fees as well as other payments. Bank Windhoek’s POS devices accept all Visa and MasterCard branded cards whether local or international, including the Nam-mic CellCard.

“Bank Windhoek is proud to have been chosen as the partner of the Ministry of Finance in its quest to provide efficient and convenient services to their clients. This partnership is a step in the right direction as our society moves to a cashless society where more and more clients are using their cards to make payments as they are safer and convenient than carrying large stash of cash. Bank Windhoek POS devices are one of the most effective POS devices on the market with minimal transactional and technical problems offering our clients convenience and a safe means of payment,” said Philip Oberholzer, Chief Financial Officer at Bank Windhoek.

Staff of the Ministry of Finance will be trained to use the devices to avoid transactional and technical problems.
