Home Sports Beach volleyball tour to hit a high over the weekend

Windhoek

This weekend’s 6th instalment of the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) beach volleyball tour will be the last episode for this year and the finale will be held at the DTS beach arena in the capital.

Last year’s King of the Beach James Verrinder and Queen of the Beach Rosi Hennes will again be part of the action in their bid to retain their crowns. The 2015 tour leaders Jan-Eric Sack and Kim Seebach will also be out trying to finish off their season in style.

With N$5 000 worth of prizes, via a sponsorship from Interpack, and also BVF beach tour points up for grabs, organisers have promised another exciting competition.

It will also be the last chance for the ladies senior national beach volleyball team to play on home soil before they depart for Egypt on November 2 along with the national coach James Verrinder to continue their qualification journey towards the Rio Olympics 2016.

The Namibian team, which consist of Julia Laggner, Kim Seebach, Stephanie Palmhert and Rosi Hennes , will compete against the likes of Angola, Rwanda, Gabon and hosts Egypt for a chance to reach the semi-finals of the Continental Cup, which is one step closer to next year’s Olympics.
