BIKERS really know how to party. More so, than when they are celebrating a birthday bash, as was the case on Saturday when the Live to Ride Windhoek Chapter held an informal gathering at the infamous‘Goose’s Nest’ outdoor pub in Brakwater.

With a traditional mass ride kick starting the 19th anniversary occasion of the club, the engines were all fired up and thumping along the highway with approximately 30 bikes taking part.

The guys and girls brought out an impressive gathering of bikeswhich were lined-up in the parking area outside the venue. The  the ‘best bike of the day went to Willie Lubbe on his awesome Harley Davidson, with Willie Koen and Rassie Erasmus from Playboy Walvis Bay Club sharing the ‘biker of the day prize’. And doing it for girl power, Monika Viljoen was chosen ‘lady biker of the day’.

Of course no festivity is the same without music, especially if t is a live band keeping the party going from start to finish.

And who better to pull out their instruments than a bunch of seasoned ‘muso’s’ from‘Final Chapter’ who were playing a revival gig.

Well known motor sport personality and front man Jan Gous, was backed up by the legendary Hansie Van Niekerk on lead, Jood Van der Merwe on bass, Bimbo Tagliaferri on drums, with his sister on keyboards.

With cover versions that includes just about every genre of pop tunes in the book, they entertained the leather clad bikers, friends and biking enthusiasts well into the night.

The event welcomed bikers from some of the others clubs, namely Wild Bulls, Playboy’s, Desert Mustangs, CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) Cowboys From Hell, and a big turnout from the Live to Ride who  turned up for the ‘joll’.
