Black Africa’s AGM set for next month

Black Africa’s AGM set for next month

Zebaldt Ngaruka

Black Africa Sports Club is set to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) at Khorixas in Kunene region on 9 November 2024.

Club chairperson Tomi Adams told New Era Sport that all arrangements are in place, and the executive committee (exco) is receiving positive news from national supporters’ coordinator Lolo Goraseb.

He said preparations for the AGM are going well, as the various regions have indicated their readiness for the event.

“All looks good, the regions have submitted the names of their delegates for the election to the exco. The excitement is being felt across, and this will motivate the entire team,” he said.

He said the AGM would serve as an elective congress, and it is a positive sign that all regions will be represented to take the team further.

Among the key issues to be discussed is unity within the team, and the rebuilding of the BA brand.

The disunity has led to the historic club being involved in court battles, and that has created factionalism within the once-formidable club.

“These court battles have affected the team very much, and now we are going to look for a mandate to return this once-formidable club to the top-flight league,” added Adams.  x“Despite the unannounced dates around the league’s kick-off, the team is well-prepared, and the aim is to return to the premier league, and take our place in Namibian football. Of course, we have new arrivals in the team, as we have bolstered our squad. It is too early to announce the names, as negotiations are ongoing as well with some players.

This will be  xthe second season BA will be spending in the country’s First Division after it was relegated from the premier league during the 2022/23 season.

BA will join other former premier league teams such as Life Fighters, Okakarara Young Warriors and Orlando Pirates in the country’s second tier league.
