… to make mincemeat of Kenyan

WINDHOEK –Wilberforce ‘Black Mamba’ Shihepo says he looks forward to knocking out his opponent in what is billed to be the last mega fight of the year organized under the auspices of the popular MTC Nestor Sunshine Tobias Boxing and Fitness Academy, to be staged on Friday.

In a boxing bonanza titled ‘No Mercy Part 2’, the Black Mamba will defend his WBO Africa Super Middleweight title against the equally dangerous Daniel Wanyonyi of Kenya, the latter scheduled to arrive in Namibia yesterday. Wanyonyi will not be an easy opponent as the Kenyan boasts a proud record of 18 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws from 25 bouts.

“I am fully aware that I will be up against an experienced fighter but I am better than him and fighting at home – this is a fight I must win at all costs to give my fans the Christmas present they deserve,” said a confident Shihepo.

On his part, Wanyonyi shot back saying he was excited to come to Namibia and looked forward to an exciting fight, adding boastfully: “I will be in Namibia for nothing else than a win and not leave that ring before I hear the following words, ‘And the new WBO Africa Super Middleweight champion is Daniel Wanyonyi’.”

Boxing fans will be treated to nine exciting fights on the night, which includes four title bouts that promise to be excellent value for money, according to Nestor Tobias, trainer and promoter of the Academy.

“We invite boxing fans to come and relax while enjoying world class boxing live from the Country Club. This will be the last fight for this year in Windhoek and we want to treat our fans to an experience that they will never forget,” said Tobias.

Other title fights on the cards sees Amberk Shindjuu challenge for the WBO Africa flyweight title against Pathias Chisenga, while Sacky “Izinyoka” Shikukutu takes on Sherif Kasongo from the DRC for the WBO Africa Welterweight title.

The main supporting bout sees Martin “Black Poison” Haikali up against fellow countryman Peter “The Butcher” Malakia for the WBO Africa Lightweight title.

Tickets are available at Computicket countrywide for N$200 for normal seating and N$10  for a table seating 10 people with refreshments including snacks and wine.
