WINDHOEK – The Namibian Junior 7s rugby team, Blitz Warriors, are confident of bringing home a medal from the African Youth Games, currently underway in Gaborone, Botswana.
The rugby team will be the first Namibian athletes to compete in the opening round of action during the games, with all their group matches taking place today. Namibia will open their account with a first group match against hosts Botswana this morning, followed by a lunch time match against Zimbabwe and then another match later this afternoon against Tunisia.
The second group comprises South Africa, Kenya, Ivory Coast and Madagascar. All playoff matches and the finals are scheduled for tomorrow. The team is said to be well prepared and ready to bring home the country’s first medal from the Youth Games.
