WINDHOEK – The chief regional officer (CRO) of the Hardap Regional Council is taking her partners in a fishing company to court over alleged financial discrepancies.

The CRO, Yvonne Boois, cited Andreas Himarwa, Margaret Mensah-Williams, Johannes Richter, Hendrik Witbooi and the company Hotago Fishing close corporation.

The purpose of the application according to court records is to compel the respondents to, within 20 court days from the date of the order, provide to her full financial details such as financial statements, records and accounts including balance sheets, cash flow and income statements, statements of changes in equity together with verifying and supporting documentation and vouchers.

Other documents are the assets register, VAT returns, lists of debtors and creditors as well as minutes of meetings of or pertaining to Hotago Fishing cc from the date of its inception.

She wants the court to order the respondents to debate such accounts with her to determine the total amount that would have been available in the books of Hotago Fishing cc for distribution to members in accordance with their interests.

She further asked that any amount which the respondents benefitted unduly and disproportionate to their interest be paid to her together with interest of 20 percent per annum.

The matter is on the roll for April 10.
