WALVIS BAY- An argument between a couple of Swakopmund ended in tragedy when the boyfriend took his life hours after the argument.

Erongo police spokesperson, Ileni Shapumba yesterday identified the deceased as Jason Tuhafeni Salmon (31).

According to Shapumba, the deceased, who was living with his girlfriend at the time of the argument, arrived at his sister’s house around 02h00 on Friday. 

“The deceased was crying and revealed details surrounding the fight. He also promised the sister that he will tell her more in the morning,” Shapumba said.

The sister then prepared a bed for him. However, the deceased allegedly started sending text messages to his relatives, stating that he is leaving.

“His body was found hanging at around 06h30 by his relatives,” Shapumba said.

In another incident, a woman (23) was arrested in Omaruru after she stabbed her boyfriend following an argument on Saturday.

The couple, according to the police, were drinking and arguing the previous night. It is alleged

 The boyfriend, identified as Dankie Nawiseb (25) allegedly went to sleep in the suspect’s room; she, however, chased him out. She, during the scuffling, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her boyfriend twice in the face and once in the left side of his chest.

Nawiseb is said to be in critical but stable condition and is receiving treatment at the Omaruru state hospital.

His girlfriend was arrested and is expected to appear today in the Omaruru Magistrate’s Court.
