WINDHOEK – Two suspected burglars were arrested on Tuesday shortly after their gang of four reportedly broke into a house in Kleine Kuppe and stole cellphones, iPads, branded handbags, an expensive television set and clothing.
The four suspects allegedly broke into the house while the occupants were fast asleep.
The owner of the house woke up and noticed the house was robbed and immediately informed the police.
When the swift-acting police arrived in Klein Kuppe they searched the whole area until they found the suspects and some of the stolen goods. The suspects were in a taxi with the NABTA number G353, said Ndevahoma Nahas Mukwaita, the assistant superintendent of the Windhoek City police.
The suspects numbered five in the car while four were involved in the break-in.
Police caught two of the thieves while three including the driver managed to escape, Mukwaita added.
Mukwaita said the owner identified his belongings and opened a case against the suspects. However all the cellphones were not found and it is believed the three burglars that escaped took the cellphones with them.
