KATIMA MULILO – Bush Bucks and Shooting Stars each collected a maximum of six points over the weekend as the Namport Zambezi Regional Second Division League officially kicked off on Saturday.
Bush Bucks, who lead the 12 clubs on the log by goal difference, proved that a change of venue would not diminish their hunger for more goals from the highly motivated young players when they thrashed Real Cheetahs 6-0 on Sunday at the University of Namibia (Unam) Sports Field.
On Saturday, they beat Zambezi Sporting Academy 2-1 to stand eight goals clear against Shooting Stars, which has six points and six goals.
Shooting Stars, which has thus far used only the Unam Sports Field, beat Blue Chiefs 1-0 on Sunday.
On Saturday afternoon, Shooting Stars beat Black Buffaloes 5-0.
Space Age and Real Cheetahs stand at the bottom of the league with zero points each, while clubs that won their first matches on Saturday lost their Sunday games.
On Saturday, Blue Chiefs beat Space Age 5-1 and lost 0-1 against a formidable Shooting Stars on Sunday afternoon.
Oryza Sativa, which won 3-0 on Saturday against Real Cheetahs at the Unam Sports Field, lost 2-0 against Zambezi Sporting Academy at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex.
Green Eagles, who beat Bright Stars 3-1 on Saturday, lost 2-1 to Namib Chiefs on Sunday at the Katima Mulilo Sports Complex.
Roccano King Rangers, who beat Namib Chiefs 2-0, lost 1-0 to Bright Stars at the same venue on Sunday.
