WINDHOEK – While the prophets of doom are trying in vain to paint a bad picture in the aftermath of the just ended 9TH TN Mobile African Women’s Championship, praises continue to pour in for Namibia after it successfully hosted the continental showpiece in Windhoek last month.
Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) President Issa Hayatou expressed his sincere gratitude to the Namibian Government, in particular Prime Minister Dr Hage Geingob who was ever-present during the championship.
“On behalf of the all members of CAF, its executive committee and in my personal name, I have the immense honour and the privilege to wholeheartedly congratulate you for the excellent organization of the 09th TN Mobile African Women’s Championship that took place in Namibia from October 09th to 25th 2014,” wrote Hayatou to Geingob.
Africa’s football supremo singled out Namibia’s exceptional hospitality: “I express my sincere gratitude for the warm and friendly welcome and exceptional hospitality reserved for the entire CAF delegation and myself. Furthermore, we were delighted to be graced by your presence and support during the matches and as Africans, we are truly proud of your engagement for the overall development of your beautiful country.”
The CAF president also wished Namibia the best of future endeavours to showcase their dedication to football. “We hope therefore that Namibia will have the opportunities to highlight its professionalism and dedication to football in the future and I personally wish you further and continuous success in your noble mission,” continued Hayatou.
