By Frederick Philander

WINDHOEK

The organization Church Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) last week held its annual general meeting under the theme, ‘A call on churches … Namibia’s children need you.’

The gathering was officially opened by the Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Marlene Mungunda..

At the same occasion, the director of CAFO, Dr Henry G Platt, handed over cheques to seven organizations.

“This funding comes from the New Partner’s Initiative, a programme by the US Government. The purpose of this specific programme for CAFO is to build the capacity of selected churches and faith-based groups that will provide compassionate, comprehensive care to orphans and vulnerable children,” he said during the handing-over ceremony.
