Namibia’s Directorate of Veterinary Services has convened the all-important Border Harmonisation Meeting of Veterinary Authorities, which aims to discuss and dissect all issues related to animal health at border points. 

The local agronomy sector experienced a decline in production of about 60.1% from 55 036 tonnes recorded in the second quarter of 2022 to 21 953 tonnes registered in the second quarter of this year, especially in leading crops such as white maize, millet and wheat.

The Suide Boere Netwerk (SBN), a group primarily consisting of communal and resettled farmers from the southern pockets of the country, recently held a successful mini-show that attracted over 388 animals of various breeds. 

Many of our farmers are trying their level best to keep their heads above water in the midst of a piercing drought that has hit most parts of the country, especially the northwestern, south and northeastern areas.
