WINDHOEK - The Chamber of Mines in Namibia this week lauded the local mining sector as the best performing economic sector in 2018. This top performance was confirmed by the Preliminary National Accounts as released by the Namibia Statistics Agency, which indicated that the sector recorded a strong growth rate of 22 percent compared to 13.3 percent in 2017, which is more than any other economic sector.  

WINDHOEK – The Bank of Namibia (BoN) yesterday declared dividends of N$294 million to the state revenue fund.
The dividend is from the 2018/2019 financial year.

WINDHOEK - The Dare to Care Fund shot up to N$4 million last week after a donation of N$385 000 by Old Mutual which means that 76 000 bags of fodder will be subsidised with N$50 per bag. A meeting was held last Friday where all retailers agreed about final rules for implementation. The target date for national implementation is next week Monday.
