ONGWEDIVA – Two men, accused of murder, were denied bail when they made their first appearance in the Ohangwena Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The trial of a 28-year-old man, who denied to having raped, strangled and killed Magdalena Gamras in June 2016 at Gobabis, could not proceed yesterday due to the unavailability of the prosecutor.

RUNDU – Two Chinese nationals, who were arrested last year for the murder of one of their employees at Andara village in the Mukwe constituency of Kavango East, were granted bail of N$100 000 each this week. 

More details have emerged of how a teenage boy has allegedly been preying on minor girls for sexual exploitation between September 2019 and August this year.

An Omuthiya man who was falsely accused of stealing a gas stove component from a local store has expressed unhappiness with how the police handled the case.

ONGWEDIVA - Three women were denied bail in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court on Monday after the alleged scammers reportedly managed to steal the identity of a woman and attempted to apply for a loan of more than N$170 000 from a cash loan business. 

One of the men accused of attacking an elderly couple, which resulted in the death of 79-year-old Roswitha Strzelecki in Swakopmund in 2017, has informed the court he cannot afford the processing fee for him to attain legal representation.

The  father of the late Hango Ekonia Shipepe is not happy with the decision by the Okahao Magistrate’s Court to grant bail to the murder accused of his 19-year-old son. 

The State is ready to prosecute three men, who are accused of killing an elderly couple farm Lindeshof near Köes in the Keetmanshoop district in 2018.
