Bowls pipe opener promises an attractive season

WINDHOEK - The Bowling season got off with a bang last weekend at the Eros Bowling Club annual fundraiser. 
The quartet of old time campaigners Will Esterhuizen, Val Gallagher, Wouter du Plooy and Ian de Kock, walked away with top honours during the one-day spectacle, which turned out to be a great day for the latter as this was only his 3rd attempt playing the game.

New dumpsite for Katima a ‘health hazard’

KATIMA MULILO - The new temporary dumpsite being used by the Katima Mulilo Town Council (KMTC) has raised eyebrows at the north eastern town, with many residents considering it a health hazard due to its proximity to residential areas and its lack of an environmental clearance certificate.

Slight drop in criminal case finalisation

WINDHOEK - President Hage Geingob yesterday raised concern over the slow pace of finalising cases in Namibian courts, having hear that only 49 percent of cases heard in the magistrate’s courts between January and September 2018 were finalised.

City postpones reinstatement meeting

WINDHOEK – A special City of Windhoek (CoW) meeting slated for yesterday to discuss President Hage Geingob’s directive that suspended City of Windhoek CEO Robert Kahimise and City Police Chief Abraham Kanime be reinstated has been postponed indefinitely.
