ONGWEDIVA & OMUTHIYA – Classes at over 100 schools in Oshana, Oshikoto, Omusati and Ohangwena regions have been completely or partially suspended due to flooding water streams in the regions

Due to early floods experienced in the Zambezi River basin, some schools in Kabbe South have been cut off – leaving many learners stranded.

A struggling and unemployed mother of four said she had contemplated taking her own life and that of her children in the past in order to escape poverty. 

Teachers at Donkerbos Primary School in the Omaheke region have decried the water shortages being experienced at the school, saying their health and that of learners is compromised. 

RUNDU – A seven-month-old baby boy died while sleeping with his mother at Sitopogo village near the Nankudu district hospital in Kavango West.

OMUTHIYA – About 20 tenants of Endombo compound in Tsumeb were on Tuesday served with eviction notices under heavy police presence for failure to pay rent since 2017. Earlier reports suggested the number to be close to 300, but this figure was denied by the property owner, Christo Groenwald. 

OMUTHIYA – The Internal Investigations Unit in Otjozondjupa region has launched an investigation into allegations against some officers stationed at Grootfontein police station that they are involved in bribery and have assaulted trial-awaiting inmates.
