Two convicts who breached ACC Act denied bail

WINDHOEK - Two Chinese nationals sentenced to 24 months in jail each for attempting to bribe a police official with N$4000 to stop her investigation into a money laundering complaint against one of them was last Friday denied bail pending an appeal they lodged against the sentence.

China rescues SOS children’s village

WINDHOEK - The SOS Children’s Village in Khomasdal had its 34-year-old aging water system repaired with funding of N$88,184 from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China through its ambassador Zhang Yiming and N$36,816 availed by a Thai businessman, bringing the total donation to N$ 125 000.

MPs advised to adhere to speed limit

WINDHOEK - In a rare move, as the National Council adjourned Thursday for the festive season, its chairperson Margaret Mensah-Williams encouraged the Members of Parliament to take the lead by being safe drivers, and obey the rules of the road, most especially the speed limit.
