A mentally unstable patient caused considerable damage to the mental ward of the Swakopmund State Hospital after he set a room on fire on Sunday.

Following a detailed building inspection by the regional education directorate of Otjozondjupa, over seven classrooms of the Okakarara Primary School were declared unsafe and uninhabitable for learners and teachers.
