The Namibia Employer’s Federation (NEF) has confirmed the passing of their secretary general Daan Strauss, who passed away on 10 January 2023 after a prolonged illness. 

During the third quarter of 2022, foreign direct investment into Namibia recorded a higher inflow, mainly due to equity injections for exploration activities as well as the uptake of intercompany loans. 

Following the call for applications last year on MTC 4Life, an overwhelming number of applications has been recorded when over 8 000 unemployed Namibian youth applicants from across the country submitted their expression of interest in the programme.

In a quest to improve the quality of the country’s education system, the ministry of education adopted a new curriculum that brought about major changes in the sector. Some of these notable changes include abolishing external exams in grade 10, introducing it in grade 11, and introducing a new curriculum setting for grade 12.  

Namibia’s education system has had its head hung in shame since the release of the NSSCO and NSSCAS results for 2022, and rightfully so.

Namibian parents will concentrate on enrolling students for grade zero or one (age group between five to seven) as schools are opening across the nation. 

Katima Mulilo residents have been flocking to the local Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust shop to buy fish, with the fish season currently closed. 

Dressed in a blue overall jacket and denim jeans, the principal of Green Leaves Primary School, Chanville Mackrill, and his teachers were ready to roll up their sleeves and build classrooms with corrugated zinc sheets and other materials they ordered to accommodate 600 learners.

Keeping the lights on during 2023 and beyond has become an increasing cause of concern for Namibian industries and households. 

Learners from Izimwe Primary School in Zambezi were in for a shock on the first day of the school year, as the dilapidated tent in which they were taught was no longer in use, hence a tree awaited them as classroom.
