On Friday, Namibia’s Green Hydrogen Council launched its green hydrogen strategy, which supports the country’s commitment to the Paris Agreement on climate change, with the ultimate goal of reducing emissions to net zero by 2050. 

Namibia is ranked 91st globally when looking at the per-capita gross domestic product (GDP), with an income of around US$4 730, which is not a lot when you compare it to a nation like Norway. 

The African Export-Import Bank also known Afreximbank, is keen to work with both the public and private sectors in Namibia in developing a robust pipeline of projects. 

The European Union concluded a strategic partnership with Namibia on supply of sustainable raw materials and renewable hydrogen.
