OMUTHIYA – The Oshikoto regional U/19 netball team have been hard at work with preparations for this year’s The Namibian Newspaper Cup to be held at the southern town of Mariental in the Hardap region over the Easter weekend next month.

WINDHOEK – The Namibian senior football team the Brave Warriors were left licking their wounds after an embarrassing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Zambia in their decisive Group-K African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier in Lusaka on Saturday.

WINDHOEK - The Brave Warriors’ embarrassing lukewarm performance in their decisive final 2019 Afcon qualifier against Zambia was overshadowed by demands and threats as disgruntled squad members tried to force the country’s football authorities to hand over win bonuses.

WINDHOEK – When the exciting maroon and gold strip Tsumeb outfit Etosha Lions FC arrived at Park Station, Johannesburg, South Africa in 1962 – the star-studded squad only had eleven players on board under the stewardship of shrewd football administrator, the late Herbert Conradie. 

WINDHOEK _ Four young and very promising lawn bowls players have been selected to compete in an Under 20s tourney, to be hosted by Bowls South Africa in Bloemfontein, from 25 to 29 of this month.  

WINDHOEK - Five-hundred and twenty-eight participants, comprising 132 teams of four, took part in the Bank Windhoek Corporate Challenge Relay at the Doc Jubber Hockey Fields in Olympia, Windhoek. 

Tomorrow, March 24 is a very special day that brings back fond memories when Namibians of all walks of life celebrated the Brave Warriors’ Afcon qualification for her maiden appearance at Africa’s biggest showpiece in Burkina Faso in 1998.

WINDHOEK – After winning last year’s edition of the Confederation of Southern African Schools Sports Association (Cosassa) Athletics meet held in Botswana, Namibia has already set plans in motion and is gearing up to defend her crown at this year’s championships slated for eSwatini.
