CCD and Wanderers in Three Ships Premiership final

Home Sports CCD and Wanderers in Three Ships Premiership final

Windhoek

CCD and Wanderers 1 both won their respective semi-final matches in the Three Ships Premier League last weekend to set up what is expected to be one of the best finals ever, slated for the CCD Cricket Grounds in Windhoek this Saturday.

CCD faced EBH XI last Saturday at their home field in Pionierspark and the visitors won the toss and elected to bat first. They found themselves in all sorts of trouble from the very beginning with CCD’s bowling order in fine form and wickets falling at regular intervals.

Eventually, EBH XI were out for 102 runs after 27.1 overs.

John-Eric Thierauch (3/7 in 3 overs), Stephen Baard (2/6 in 5 overs), Mushe Honga (2/25 in 5) and Timothy Yates (2/28 in 6) were responsible for the damage.

Baard collected 32 runs while his national team mates Pikky ya France (33*) and Lohan Louwrens (15*) helped the team reach the set target to give them an 8-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, Wanderers 1 were equally impressive when they dispatched Windhoek High School Old Boys (WHSOBCC) 1 by 118 runs on the same day at the Wanderers field.

The home side won the toss, electing to bat first and scored a massive 312 runs in the allotted

50 overs while conceding 6 wickets. The high score was mostly down to junior national player Niko Davin’s exploits of 129 runs.

Gerrie Snyman (99) and Xander Pitchers (27) had a good day at the office as well.

WHSOBCC could only reply with 194 all out in 41.2 overs despite Craig Williams getting 74 runs on the score sheet.

The Wanderers’ bowlers were in fine form, especially the trio of Toby Verwey (4/50 in 5.2) overs, Bernard Scholtz (2/25 in 10) and

  1. Smit 2/17 in 7 overs.
