WINDHOEK – Namibia Rugby Premiership reigning champions Western Suburbs managed to keep their title defense campaign on track following a blistery performance, which saw them waltz past an equally determined Reho Falcon outfit by 28-21 in Rehoboth on Saturday.

As defending champions, the victory has eased a bit of pressure on Suburbs going into the next round and is a big boost when they face their next opponents. Despite the defeat, Falcon also had their moments and their overall performance was a true reflection of what their supporters can expect this season. In other results, Wanderers also recorded an emphatic victory when they scored 67 unanswered points against a hapless Dolphins Rugby Club in a one-sided encounter.

Wanderers found themselves in an uncompromising mood as they ran amok amongst their opponents, who were nowhere near their class. As much as Wanderers tried to turn what was on face value a no-contest into a contest, the home side had very little to offer in terms of competition. United made sure their home ground advantage counted in their favour when they hammered the visiting Kudus 42-11 in another highly entertaining clash, while Rehoboth Rugby Club completed the weekend’s action with a vital 8-3 win against Unam in a low-scoring match at the Unam Stadium.
