Chelsi under fire following Julita’s win… was this even necessary?

Chelsi under fire following Julita’s win… was this even necessary?

Miss Namibia 2021 Chelsi Shikongo endured quite a number of challenges ever since her crowning. It is during these times that she has proved yet again why she is worthy of the crown, and we love to see it.

Just recently, Namibia was excited to finally crown Miss Supranational Namibia 2022, Julita Kitwe Mbangula, and we could not be prouder to see the Namibian flag flying high.

But even as many were sending in their congratulations, including our very own Chelsi, it seems tweeps decided to shame the Miss Namibia organisation, after many noticed how well the Miss Supranational organisation had outshone them when it come to treating their pageant queens.

This is after Julita shared on her Insta stories a photo of herself standing next to a Pupkewitz BMW, which, as it seems, was sponsored by Miss Supranational organisation.

Seeing this, a debate arose on Twitter with the question; how come Miss Supranational was bigger than Miss Namibia?

While many have given the valid argument that the reason Julita got a beamer and Chelsi a Toyota after their crowning could be because the organisations have different sponsors. Others have instead gone ahead to drag Chelsi in it out of the blue.

Many say Julita is actually “better” than Chelsi in that she has better qualifications, seeing that she is a medical doctor, and others have even fronted the fact that the pageant queens come from different backgrounds.

I know what you’re thinking; these are indeed baseless arguments, especially when Miss Namibia herself has been supporting Julita from the get-go. To say that Julita is actively humiliating Chelsi, well, that could not possibly be true.

Let us not also forget that it was during her crowning that tweeps had slammed Pukewitz Toyota and the Miss Namibia organisation for awarding Chelsi’s first runner-up with a better car than Chelsi’s, in what many believe was because of racism.

It was later on that the pageant organisation clarified the matter, saying there was no such thing, and that there was not much difference between the two cars as tweeps seemed to believe.

Are we now really having the same argument when clearly there are no racism claims to be made this time?
