Chery Namibia is expanding its lineup of the Tiggo 7 CSH with the imminent arrival of a new Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) derivative of its popular Tiggo 7 SUV. Offered in two well-equipped trims, the Tiggo 7 CSH, which will soon grace local showrooms, combines the brand’s hallmark value-for-money proposition with the added benefits of hybrid performance and efficiency.
Powering the Tiggo 7 CSH is a 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 265 kW and 310 Nm of torque. This power is available across a broad band from 1 750 to 4 000 rpm, ensuring strong and responsive performance.
Thanks to an 18.3 kWh battery, the Tiggo 7 CSH is capable of travelling up to 93 km on electric power alone, with a total combined range of up to 1 200 km. Power is sent to the front wheels via Chery’s smooth and efficient Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), with combined fuel consumption rated at just 4.9 L/100 km. Charging is convenient, with a full recharge taking 45 minutes to 1 hour using a DC fast charger, or between 4 and 8 hours when plugged into an AC charger.
Like the standard model, the Tiggo 7 CSH boasts a bold and contemporary design, complemented by premium finishes and distinctive styling elements. Available in Plus and Ultra trims, both variants come standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, ventilated front disc brakes, and rear disc brakes.
Automatic LED headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, and rear fog lamps are standard across both trims. The range-topping Ultra specification further adds front fog lamps, a panoramic sunroof, and a power-operated tailgate.
Inside, the Tiggo 7 CSH impresses with a high level of standard specification. The Plus trim features leather upholstery, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and push-button start, among other amenities.
The range-topping Ultra variant builds on this with added comfort and convenience features, including a driver’s seat with memory function, heating, and ventilation. The front passenger also benefits from four-way power adjustment, as well as heating and ventilation. Further enhancing the cabin experience, the Ultra gains an automatic anti-dazzle rearview mirror—replacing the manual unit found in the Plus—as well as a negative ion air purification system.
With 626 litres of luggage space available behind the rear seats, the Tiggo 7 CSH offers impressive practicality, easily accommodating the everyday needs of a modern family. For added versatility, the 60/40 split-folding rear bench can be folded flat to expand total load capacity to a generous 1,672 litres, making it ideal for weekend getaways or larger cargo.
The Tiggo 7 CSH is equipped with an extensive suite of technology features designed to keep both driver and passengers informed and entertained, even on long-distance journeys. Both Plus and Ultra models feature a dual 12.3-inch display setup, comprising a fully digital instrument cluster and a central touchscreen.
Connectivity is well catered for, with standard Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports for both front and rear passengers, and an additional USB-C port up front. Intelligent Voice Command is also included across the range—drivers can simply say “Hello Chery” to activate the voice assistant, which enables hands-free control of various vehicle functions. A 50-watt wireless charging pad is also standard on both trims.
While the Plus is equipped with a six-speaker audio system, the Ultra features an upgraded eight-speaker Sony sound system, delivering a refined and immersive audio experience. The Ultra also gains an ambient lighting system, further enhancing the premium feel of the cabin.
On the safety front, the Tiggo 7 CSH continues Chery’s reputation for stellar safety protection. Both trims receive front dual, front side, side curtain, front inter-seat, and driver’s knee airbags, providing stellar occupant protection in the event of a collision.
