Chiefs Santos Worry

Home Archived Chiefs Santos Worry

WINDHOEK Marathon Sugar Chiefs Santos was once a force to be reckoned with but is pitifully languishing at the bottom of the Premier League. The ‘ Sugar Boys’ from Tsumeb have thus far garnered a mere five points from 13 matches played so far. Chiefs Santos’ past performances have been impressive and they have had a record of concluding the Premier League in the top five positions. Many in the corridors of football frequently ask questions regarding the unim-pressive run by Chiefs Santos. This weekend, Chiefs Santos will square up against newly promoted outfit Touch and Go at Otavi at the Khoaeb Stadium. Touch and Go have proven to many visitors that they can be a thorn in the flesh of many defenders and Chiefs Santos will not be an exception. On Sunday, the Sugar Boys will face log leaders Buschschule Civics in what is expected to be a walk in a park for the ‘ Civilians’ as they are popularly known. Out of 13 matches to their credit, Chiefs Santos have won one match, drawn two and lost ten. Between Chiefs Santos and log leaders Civics, there is a difference of 27 points. Another team struggling for survival are coastal giants Kinalco Eleven Arrows, who are trailing behind with seven points. Eleven Arrows will rub shoulders with Cymot Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) on Saturday at Kuisebmund Stadium while on Sunday they will face Orlando Pirates at the same venue.
