… Whilst Gunners, Waters & United in Three-Dog Fight

Barring a miracle, MTC Namibia Premiership rookies Namdeb Fedics United have all but kissed goodbye to top-flight football next season after the basement residents could only muster one point from their 3-all stalemate against Tigers, last weekend.

With two rounds of matches to go before the curtain comes down on this season’s activities, the Keetmanshoopers are still rooted at the foot of the table with a paltry 13 points from 20 matches, and need to win their remaining two matches and hope fellow relegation candidates Blue Waters and Mighty Gunners stumble along the way.

United have a date with a wounded African Stars outfit at the J Stephanus Stadium in Keetmanshoop on Saturday (19h00).

Second placed Oshikandela Ramblers will be out to retain their lead on the log standings ahead of Orlando Pirates who were held to a 1-all draw by Blue Waters last weekend.

The Tunchel Street Boys welcome hoodoo team Civics at the Khomasdal Stadium tomorrow evening (19h00). The Pionierspark-based outfit will be back in action three days later when they travel up north for their second round encounter against Oshakati City at the Independence Stadium in Oshakati on Saturday (15h00)

Dawid Snewe’s Mighty Gunners are at home to Black Africa at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo on Saturday (15h00).

Smithley Engelbrecht’s charges are a mere two points adrift of log leaders Pirates and victory over the men in uniform would see the Katutura giants mounting a late challenge for the coveted MTC Namibia Premiership title, while a comprehensive result for Gunners will guarantee them Premiership football next season.

Tigers host arch rivals APS Blue Waters at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday (15h00)

Across town, Pirates entertain KM Eleven Arrows at the SKW Stadium on Saturday (15h00). The Buccaneers cannot afford to slip at this stage and need to collect maximum points in their remaining two matches if they are to entertain any hopes of pepping up their barren Trophy cabinet, that has been gathering thick dust over the last couple of years.

Fresh from last weekend’s win over African Stars in the MTC NFA Cup final – it’s back to serious business for Civics as Ricardo Mannetti’s leg-weary charges welcome SKW at Windhoek’s Independence Stadium on Saturday (15h00)

The MTC Namibia Premiership title is still wide open with three points only separating the top six teams – Pirates (35), Ramblers (34), Black Africa (33), Civics (32), Black Africa (32) and SKW (32).
