WINDHOEK – Well known South African football coach, Basil Calvin Peterson is looking for a new challenge and has identified Namibia as his next destination. Peterson played professional football in the highly competitive South African Federation Premier League for various clubs including Swarah.
He says he has been very impressed by the progress and professional structures in the MTC Premiership and wants to coach any team in the country’s flagship league. He previously enjoyed successful coaching stints with various clubs in the South African Federation Premier League where he won several accolades including league titles.
Peterson steered Swaziland’s Mbabane Highlanders to the coveted league title in the 2013/2014 season. He also took the team to the Swazi Bank Cup semi-finals and was deservedly voted Swaziland MTN First Division Coach of the Season He quit football through injury while still at the pinnacle of his flourishing football career but his love for the beautiful game kept him intact as he ventured into coaching where he excelled with distinction.
In an exclusive interview with New Era Sports, Peterson says his motto is to build good teams and hone the players potential to the maximum while playing entertaining football at the same time.
