WINDHOEK – A total of seventeen coaches are undergoing training as part of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) C License Coaching course’s first block that ends on Friday in Windhoek, with the 2nd and final block slated for Football House in Windhoek in July this year.
The course commenced in the first week of this month under the stewardship of instructors Klaus Starke (NFA Technical Director), Willy Kapukare (CAF Instructor), Jacqui Shipanga (FIFA/NFA Instructor), Woody Jacobs (NFA Instructor), Brian Isaacks (NFA Instructor) and Timo Tjongarero (NFA Instructor).
The Laws of the Game sessions will be held under the supervision of NFA Referees Instructor, Boy-Boy Ndjadhila while Nutrition and Sports Medicine will be covered by both Donatha Ngunovandu and Dr Gerson Kandjii.
The initial course was supposed to have taken place in October last year but was shelved as a result of low interest. Participants who are coaches at clubs, schools and academies are introduced to the NFA coaching and licensing system, conducting a fitness and technical test and planning a training session.
The basic football techniques, shooting and warm-up programs, youth training, introduction to game systems and tactics, importance of players’ conditioning and the laws of the game are some of the hot topics on the agenda.
