WINDHOEK

Weather forecaster, Riaan van Zyl, has described the cold weather conditions sweeping across most parts of the country since Sunday evening as normal.

Temperatures dropped as low as a minimum of -1 and a maximum of 16 degrees Celsius in places such as Windhoek.

The weatherman maintains this is an annual occurrence.

“It should end tomorrow. It’s the last cold,” he told New Era.

Another forecaster from the Meteorological Services, Jennifer Moeti, said the cold spell is due to a strong high-pressure system approaching behind a cold front forcing the cold air over central and southern parts of the country.
