By Frederick Philander WINDHOEK Avalon Event has this year become the first entertainment company to appoint two full-time professional artists. This was confirmed to Art/Life in a telephonic interview by actress and co-owner of Avalon Event, Natasha Lamoela. “With the appointment of these two female actresses, we now have a staff of four, and at a later stage we hope to expand on the number of appointments for which the time is ripe,” said Lamoela, adding that the company now operates from its own offices in Windhoek West. According to her, the company also makes use of the part-time services of about 20 freelance actors in most of its productions. “We have just completed a successful run of an industrial play, Lindie’s Dream, dealing with the advantages of savings at local commercial banks. The play, a product of the recently-held Bank Week event in the capital, toured some of the Northern Regions, and might even be taken further afield,” Lamoela said of the work that was written, produced and directed by the company.
