WINDHOEK – The 29-year-old police constable, Herold Malio, who was arrested in August for stabbing his girlfriend that same month was finally granted bail of N$2 000 by the Okakarara Magistrate’s Court.
This time the girlfriend, Naria Magdalena Uses, who is also 29 and has since been discharged from hospital, did not object to bail.
Malio who was denied bail in August applied for a government funded attorney through legal aid and was unsuccessful. He then went to court on October 2.
His girlfriend Uses was summoned to court and she indicated that she did not object to Malio being granted bail.
Uses was stabbed with a knife at Okondjatu in August when the couple had a heated argument and the suspect was reportedly under the influence.
Uses was stabbed in the upper leg, with Malio believed to have been aiming for her private parts.
The matter will continue on October 20.
