The Defence Force Foundation has opened a guesthouse in Grootfontein, named Sky Court.

It will host military personnel as well as tourists and locals.

The opening was inaugurated on Monday by defence minister Frans Kapofi and the chief of the defence force, Martin Kambulu Pinehas.

Kapofi emphasised the value of the guesthouse in accommodating the Namibian Defence Force members, their families and the broader community.

“Sky Court Guesthouse stands as a beacon of hope, providing much-needed accommodation in our delightful garden town of Grootfontein,” he said.

He added that the investment in renovating and enhancing the existing guesthouse not only serves the needs of military members and those travelling through, but also benefits the broader community in Grootfontein.

“This facility embodies our pledge to invest in the infrastructure that supports our community, demonstrating that our commitment to growth and excellence extends to every aspect of the Defence Force Foundation,” he remarked.

Renovated and enhanced by the NDF’s Engineer Regiment staff, the guesthouse features five rooms with three outside units and a luxurious suite for memorable stays, together with all the comforts of modern conveniences.

With prices ranging from N$300 to N$500, the facility is situated at Hindorf Street No 156 on the northeastern edge of the township, some 800 metres from the major road leading to Rundu.
